Message from our Head

Welcome to this website which contains information for those looking at the school and for those who are already part of our school community. I believe that Hobart offers a unique mix of academic excellence and personal development that will allow your child to flourish during their time here.

At the centre of all that we do are the relationships between students, staff, parents and the wider community. We aim for all of our students to leave us with the right qualifications to see them into the next stage of their education and to have developed the skills and attributes needed to make them responsible members of our community.

It is vital that we provide a curriculum which allows all of our students to achieve at the highest level they are capable of. To this end we have outstanding teachers who deliver exciting lessons tailored to the needs of individuals. But education is not restricted to the classroom. At Hobart we have an extensive range of enrichment activities which both support and extend learning undertaken in the classroom.

Students will succeed more readily if they are happy. Hobart is a school which focuses on the success and welfare of the individual. Students are encouraged to acquire a sense of responsibility for the school and their local community. Through our guidance system we aim to help them to develop stable relationships and to show a caring approach when dealing with both adults and their peers.

I want every young person to achieve their full potential whilst they are at Hobart. I believe that the school has the ethos, the staff and facilities to help that happen.
